Sakshaug old church

From Sakshaug Old Church, you have a sweeping view of Inderøy. The building was consecrated in 1184, and the stonemason marks indicate a connection with Norway’s national shrine, Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim. The church features several interesting artistic and architectural details. During the summer, it is used for both weddings and festival concerts.

GUIDED TOURS AVAILABLE YEAR-ROUND BY APPOINTMENT
The Fortidsminneforeningen (Norwegian National Trust) owns the churches. During the summer season, both churches are open to visitors on Sundays. Tours can be booked year-round.

INDERØYVERT ("Inderøy host")
Inderøy Fortidsminneforening is certified as an InderøyVert. An InderøyVert business is one that has been trained in hospitality, local history, and the tourism offerings in Inderøy.
